Board leadership reflects international and diverse membership

European entrepreneur, Peter Brown of Pensive S.A., has been chosen to serve as chair, and Bob Freund of Asian-based software company, Hitachi, assumes the role of vice chair for the OASIS Board of Directors. Jim Hughes of Microsoft and Frederick Hirsh of Nokia will continue in their respective roles as Treasurer and Secretary. The geographic and organizational diversity of the entire Board bodes well for ensuring that the broad interests of the OASIS membership at-large are represented in the year ahead. Congratulations to all.

Board approves revisions to TC Process

Major changes include the introduction of a "Persistent Non-Voting Member" Committee role, the requirement to include Primary Rep statements of support on TC charter submissions, and the clarification on how to handle discrepancies in schemas associated with specs. The effective date of the revisions is 1 September 2009.

Public review begins for three SCA Bindings specs

Versions 1.1 of the Service Component Architecture (SCA) Web Service Binding, SCA JMS Binding, and SCA JCA Binding specifications define bindings for SOA services and references to communication protocols, technologies, and frameworks. This public review ends 7 Oct.
