DocBook Schema 5.0 becomes OASIS Standard

A complete rewrite of DocBook in RELAX NG, version 5.0 remains true to the spirit of DocBook while removing inconsistencies that have arisen throughout the standard's long evolution. Congratulations to the DocBook TC chair, Norman Walsh, and to all TC participants including representatives of Foundational Sponsor, Sun Microsystems, and Sponsors, Cisco, HP, PTC, and others for this accomplishment.

XSPA SAML and XACML healthcare profiles become OASIS Standards

Members approved the Cross-Enterprise Security and Privacy Authorization (XSPA) Profile of the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) for Healthcare as an OASIS Standard. Congratulations to the SAML TC co-chairs, Hal Lockhart of Oracle and Thomas Hardjono, and to all TC participants including representatives of Foundational Sponsors, IBM and Sun Microsystems, and Sponsors, AOL, Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton, EMC, HP, Intel, Neustar, Nokia, Oracle, Red Hat, SAP, Skyworth TTG, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, and others.

The XSPA Profile of the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) for Healthcare was also approved as an OASIS Standard.
