Members propose WS-Calendar TC

OASIS members are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Web Services Calendar (WS-Calendar) Technical Committee. WS-Calendar will adapt existing calendaring specifications, such as iCalendar, for use in Web services. WS-Calendar will be developed for use inside other specifications and standards, bringing a common scheduling function to diverse interactions in different domains. The TC will base its initial work on iCalendar (IETF RFC 5545) developed by CalConnect.org. TC proposers include representatives of TIBCO, US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and others. The Committee will operate under the Non-Assert mode of the OASIS IPR Policy. David Thewlis of CalConnect.org serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter closes 19 Jan.
