OASIS Special Election for Board of Directors

OASIS Members:

Eduardo Gutentag of Sun Microsystems has resigned his position on the OASIS
Board of Directors. Therefore, we will hold a Special Election to fill the
vacated seat on the Board.  Nominations will be accepted through Thursday
March 11.  The candidate who wins this seat will hold it until its
reelection in the 2011 Annual Election. The nomination and election process

It would be difficult to overstate the impact Eduardo has made on our
Consortium. An active OASIS member since 1996, he served on the Board for 6
years, including 4 years as its Chairman. His reputation for fairness,
insight, and leadership is widely acknowledged and well deserved. Although
his guidance at the Board level will be missed, we look forward to Eduardo's
continued involvement in and support of OASIS Technical Committees. 

Going forward, I encourage you to participate in this special election.
OASIS has benefited from the open board election process, through which the
members have engaged leaders like Eduardo and the entire current board.
