OASIS moves headquarters

The OASIS main office will be moving to Burlington, MA, USA on 30
Sept. The new location provides an improved infrastructure for
operations and better meeting facilities for members. Effective 1 Oct,
the postal address, phone, and fax numbers will be changing. To
facilitate the move, the office will be closed 30 Sept - Oct 1.

Transformational Government Framework (TGF) TC forms

The TGF TC will define an overall framework for shifting from
e-government’s traditional focus on transactional services and online
content towards the use of real-time knowledge management and mobile
workflow applications. TGF TC proposers include representatives of
Microsoft, Fujitsu, the New Zealand Government, and others. John
Borras serves as convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected
at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 21 Oct.

OASIS Standard vote opens for KMIP

Balloting for the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP)
version 1.0 and for KMIP Profiles 1.0 is now underway and will close
30 Sept. KMIP enables communication between encryption systems and
enterprise applications, including email, databases, and storage
devices. The specification was developed by representatives of IBM,
Axway, Brocade, CA Technologies, Cisco, EMC, HP, Oracle, Red Hat,
SafeNet, Skyworth TTG, Symantec, US NIST, Venafi, Voltage Security,
and others. All organizational members of OASIS are
encouraged to vote on KMIP 1.0 and KMIP Profiles 1.0; those who wish
to discuss these ballots may do so through
member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.

Test Assertions Public Review begins

The Test Assertions 1.0 documents describe guidelines and best
practices for writing test
assertions along with mandatory and optional components of a test
assertion model. This public review ends 16 Oct.

WebCGM 2.1 Errata Public Review begins

WebCGM is a profile of the Computer Graphics Metafile (ISO/IEC
8632:1999) that is optimized for Web applications in technical
illustration, electronic documentation, geophysical data
visualization, and similar fields. This public review ends 21 Sept.

US DHS Chief Privacy Officer to Keynote Identity Management 2010

Mary Ellen Callahan, Chief Privacy Officer for the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security, will provide the keynote address at the OASIS
Identity Management 2010 Conference on 27 Sept in Washington, DC.
Additional opening remarks will also be given by representatives from
OASIS IDtrust, the European Commission and World Bank. Portions of the
conference will be available via webcast. IBM is sponsoring this
event.

Top Belgian Officials to attend Green I.T. for Green Policy

The event will be hosted by the 2010 Belgian Presidency of the
European Union (EU), Belgium Ministry of Finance, and OASIS, 13-14 Oct
in Brussels. Among the 350 executives in attendance will be high-level
officials from the Belgian government. Microsoft is a Contributor of
this event; additional Contributors are welcome.
