TC Process changes take effect

Recently approved revisions to the OASIS TC Process went into effect
on 15 Oct. All members are encouraged to review the new Policy and
associated FAQ. On 20 Oct, Mary McRae, TC Administrator, will host a
webinar to answer member questions on the impact of these changes. All
are invited to attend.

OASIS Standard vote opens for XSPA Profile

Balloting for the Cross-Enterprise Security and Privacy Authorization
(XSPA) Profile of WS-Trust for Healthcare 1.0 is now underway and will
close 31 Oct. This profile describes
how to leverage the WS-Trust OASIS Standard to satisfy
information-centric security requirements for healthcare.The profile
was developed by representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsor, IBM,
as well as Avaya, Cisco, Jericho Systems, Red Hat, U.S. Veterans
Health Administration, and others. All organizational members of OASIS
are encouraged to vote on the XSPA Profile of WS-Trust; those who wish
to discuss the ballot may do so through
oasis-member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.

OASIS Standard vote opens for XRD

Balloting for the Extensible Resource Descriptor (XRD) 1.0 is now
underway and will close 31 Oct. XRD defines a simple generic format
for describing resources. Resource descriptor documents provide
machine-readable information about resources (resource metadata) for
the purpose of promoting interoperability. The specification was
developed by representatives of AOL, Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton,
Neustar, Nomura Research Institute, and others. All organizational
members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on XRD; those who wish to
discuss the ballot may do so through
oasis-member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.

IAEM hosts OASIS Emergency Standards Interop

Members of the OASIS Emergency Management (EM) Technical and Adoption
Committees will showcase applications and tools that support the
Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) suite of standards at the
annual conference of the International Association of Emergency
Managers (IAEM).  The demo will take place from 1-3 Nov in San
Antonio, Texas, USA.

Legal XML co-sponsors Open Government Workshop

The event will provide an overview of current open government
initiatives passed in 2009 as part of U.S. President Obama’s Open
Government Initiative.  The workshop will be followed by a reception;
both will be held on 9 Nov at the Stanford Law School in California,
USA.  The workshop is free and open to the public.

Emergency Management TC hosts webinar

On 21 Oct, the Emergency Management TC will host a one-hour webinar on
the Emergency Data Exchange Language Resource Messaging (EDXL-RM) and
Hospital Availability Exchange (EDXL-HAVE) standards. Attendees will
learn how implementation of these standards can enhance
interoperability and information sharing in the emergency management,
response, and healthcare domains. There is no charge to attend the
webinar; however, advance registration is necessary.
