OpenDocument Format (ODF) 1.2 public review begins

Version 1.2 of ODF features OpenFormula for spreadsheets. It also
specifies the core schema and defines the packaging model of ODF. This
public review ends 1 Mar.

LegalXML holds elections for Steering Committee

Nominations are now open for two seats on the LegalXML Member Section
Steering Committee. LegalXML brings legal and technical experts
together to create standards for the electronic exchange of legal
data. All Member Section participants are invited to nominate
qualified candidates and/or consider serving. The deadline to nominate
candidates is 1 Mar; the elections will be held 2-16 Mar.

OASIS to present at WCO Cloud event

The World Customs Organization's IT Conference in Seattle, 11-13 May,
will feature a presentation by James Bryce Clark, General Counsel for
OASIS, on behalf of the eGov Member Section as part of the session, "A
Legal Storm in the Cloud". The WCO conference is sponsored by
Microsoft.
