This group will work to substantially enhance the portability of cloud applications and IT services. TOSCA will enable the interoperable description of application and infrastructure cloud services, the relationships between parts of the service, and the operational behavior of these services, independent of the supplier that creates the service, the particular cloud provider or hosting technology. TC proposers include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsor, IBM, as well as Sponsors, CA Technologies Capgemini, Cisco, Citrix, EMC, Red Hat, SAP, Software AG, and others. Paul Lipton of CA Technologies serves as the convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 12 Dec. The objective is to manage globally unique identifiers and to exchange identification information through the life of a physical (or realized) item.
