Members propose TOSCA TC for the Cloud

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft
charter to establish the OASIS Topology and Orchestration
Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA) Technical Committee.
TOSCA will work to substantially enhance the portability of Cloud
applications and the IT services that comprise them. TOSCA will enable
the interoperable description of application and infrastructure cloud
services, the relationships between parts of the service, and the
operational behavior of these services, independent of the supplier
that creates the service, the particular cloud provider or hosting
technology. TC proposers include representatives of OASIS
Foundational Sponsor, IBM, as well as CA Technologies Capgemini,
Cisco, Citrix, EMC, Red Hat, SAP, Software AG, and others. Paul Lipton
of CA Technologies serves as convener. The member comment period for
this draft charter closes 3 Nov.

ebXML RegRep 4.0 advances to Candidate OASIS Standard

This multi-part specification may be used to implement interoperable
registries and repositories. It is undergoing a 60-day public review
period, which ends 23 Dec, in preparation for a member ballot to
consider its approval as an OASIS Standard.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
XTemp 1.0 public review begins

Produced by the Testing and Monitoring Internet Exchanges (TaMIE) TC,
XTemp defines an XML mark-up language that is event-centric and
intended for the analysis of sequence of events that represent traces
of business processes. It is designed for both log analysis and
real-time execution. The public review ends 7 Nov.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SCA Assembly Model 1.1 public review begins

The specification contains a series of artifacts that define the
configuration of a Service Component Architecture (SCA) domain in
terms of composites, which contain assemblies of service components,
and the connections and related artifacts which describe how they are
linked together. This public review ends 10 Nov.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAML 2.0 Attribute Predicate Profile 1.0 public review begins

The profile provides a mechanism to allow a Security Assertion Markup
Language (SAML) authority to certify that a given Boolean predicate
holds over one or more of a subject's attribute values, without
revealing the exact values of these attributes. This public review
ends 14 Nov.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAML 2.0 Metadata Extensions for Login 1.0 public review begins

This document defines a set of extensions to SAML metadata that
provide information necessary for user agents to present effective
user interfaces and, in the case of identity provider discovery,
recommend appropriate choices to the user. The public review ends 13
Nov.

drivers, business use cases, and high level features requirements. The
public review ends 25 Nov.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Public review begins for six EMIX drafts

Three documents address general and technical issues for the Energy
Market Information Exchange standard, which focuses on exchanging
price information and product definitions in energy markets. Three
additional Note Drafts address the use of EMIX in Transactive Energy
Markets in the broad sense. This public review ends 30 Nov.

Int'l Cloud Symposium 2011 report offers summary, next steps

The wrap-up captures key ideas discussed at the U.K. event and
describes the consensus reached regarding the barriers to full
adoption of the Cloud by public sector bodies. It also identifies
OASIS' plans for moving forward on the issues raised. Prepared by John
Borras and John Sabo, chairs of the eGov and IDtrust Member Sections
(respectively), the report includes a selection of Twitter feedback
from event attendees.
