TC approves Energy Interoperation 1.0 as Committee Specification

The Profile describes information and communication models to enable
collaborative and transactive use of energy. It facilitates the
standard exchange of dynamic price signals, reliability and emergency
signals, communication of market participation information such as
bids, and load predictability. Congratulations to TC Foundational
Sponsor, IBM, to Sponsors, EnerNOC, TIBCO, and the US National
Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), and to all Energy
Interoperation TC members.

TC approves Energy Market Information Exchange (EMIX) 1.0

Published as an OASIS Committee Specification, EMIX defines an
information model and XML vocabulary for the interoperable and
standard exchange of prices and product definitions in transactive
energy markets. Congratulations to TC Sponsors, EnerNOC, TIBCO, and
the US National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), and to
all EMIX TC members.

TC approves SAML 2.0 Kerberos Web Browser SSO Profile 1.0

The Profile has been published by the Security Services TC as an OASIS
Committee Specification. It extends the Security Assertion Markup
Language (SAML) by allowing the transport of assertions using the
Kerberos subject confirmation method by standard HTTP user agents with
no modification of client software and maximum compatibility with
existing deployments. Congratulations to TC Foundational Sponsors,
IBM, Microsoft, and Primeton, and to Sponsors, AOL, Avaya, Boeing,
EMC, Hewlett-Packard, Jericho Systems, Nokia, Oracle, Ping Identity,
Red Hat, SAP, Tiani "Spirit", and the US Veterans Health
Administration, and to all SAML TC members.

LegalDocML TC elects officers at first meeting

On 29 Mar, LegalDocML TC members elected four Committee Secretaries to
ensure their work addresses regional issues in Africa, Europe, and
North and South America--Ashok Hariharan of the Africa i-Parliaments
Action Plan (UN/DESA), Claudio Fabiani of the European Parliament, Tom
Bruce of the Cornell Law School, and Sylvia Tosar Piaggio of the
Uruguayan Parliment. Fabio Vitali and Monica Palmirani of the
University of Bologna-CIRSFID were elected as co-chairs. LegalDocML
will define a common standard to promote worldwide best practices for
the use of XML in legislative, regulatory, and judiciary documents. It
advances work begun by the Akoma Ntoso-UN project. New members are
welcome to join.

AS4 Profile of ebMS 3.0 v1.0 public review begins

The Web services B2B messaging specification brings continuity to the
principles and simplicity of AS2, while adding better compliance with
Web services standards, and features such as message pulling
capability and a built-in receipt mechanism. This public review ends
14 Apr.

TAB publishes "Interoperability Guidelines" whitepaper

The paper covers best practices for writing specifications in ways
that minimize the risk of interoperability failures between
implementations. This latest work from the OASIS Technical Advisory
Board (TAB) identifies the most common traps specification writers
should avoid.

Held on 16 May by members of the Election and Voter Services TC, the

Australia, Europe, and North America use the Election Markup Language
(EML) to provide more complete services for citizens and election
officials. EML addresses the complete election process including voter
registration, casting of the vote, e-counting, and communication of
results. There is no charge to attend the webinar; advance

for presenting dynamic technical graphics in the web environment.
WebCGM was developed by the CGM Open Member Section and is both an
OASIS Standard and a W3C Recommendation. All interested
parties--including CGM users and vendors--are invited to contribute to
this open dialogue.
