Board of Directors elects officers, seats new members

At the annual face-to-face meeting in July, the OASIS Board of Directors elected Jim Hughes of Microsoft as chair, Frederick Hirsch of Nokia as vice chair, Mike DeNicola of Fujitsu as treasurer, and Gershon Janssen as secretary. Jim, Frederick, and Gershon began their newly elected two-year terms along with Dawn Jutla of Saint Mary's University, Paul Lipton of CA Technologies, and Zhexuan Song of Huawei. They join Board members, Abbie Barbir of Bank of America, Peter Brown, Mike DeNicola of Fujitsu, Dave Ings of IBM, and Sanjay Patil of SAP.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TC Process changes take effect

Updates include eliminating public reviews for non-material content changes, allowing Statements of Use from non-OASIS members, and streamlining the process of TC rechartering. TCs are now allowed to make ballot motions by email without having to adopt standing rules. Methods have been clarified for closing Subcommittees, and documents referenced in proposed TC charters must be publicly available. An online members briefing with Chet Ensign will be held in late August to explain these changes.
