Subject: 2018 OASIS Open Standards Cup winners announced

OASIS is pleased to announce the winners of the fifth annual Open Standards Cup.

The winner of this year's Outstanding New InitiativeÂis the OASIS Static Analysis Results Interchange Format (SARIF) TCÂ(https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/sarif/).Â

The SARIF TC launched last September with 23 members. The TC is defining a standard output format for static analysis tools with a design goal of comprehensively capturing the range of data produced by static analysis tools and making it possible for developers to view, consolidate, and interact with the aggregated results. They released their first public review draft of Static Analysis Results Interchange Format (SARIF) Version 2.0 this past June. The TC co-chairs are David Keaton and Luke Cartey.

In addition to SARIF, this years' nominees were the Litigant Portal (LP) TCÂ(https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/lp/), John Greacen and Thomas Clarke, Chairs and OpenC2: Open Command and ControlÂ(https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/openc2/), Joe Brule and Sounil Yu Chairs.Â

This year's Outstanding Approved StandardÂaward goes to Key Management Interoperability Protocol Specification Version 1.4Âand Key Management Interoperability Protocol Profiles Version 1.4Âfrom the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) TC.Â

The OASIS KMIP TC works to define a single, comprehensive protocol for communication between encryption systems and a broad range of new and legacy enterprise applications. The KMIP Specification describes a protocol for communicating between clients and servers to perform certain management operations on objects stored and maintained by a key management system. The companion KMIP Profiles define a set of normative constraints for employing KMIP within a particular environment or context of use. The TC successfully ran their annual interoperability testing and demonstration of interoperability for the V1.4 specifications at RSA2018.Â

In addition to KMIP, this year's nominees were Authentication Step-Up Protocol and Metadata Version 1.0Âfrom the OASIS Electronic Identity Credential Trust Elevation Methods (Trust Elevation) TC, Service Metadata Publishing (SMP) Version 1.0Âand Business Document Metadata Service Location Version 1.0Âfrom the OASIS Business Document Exchange (BDXR) TC, TOSCA Simple Profile in YAML Version 1.1Âfrom the OASIS Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA) TC, Universal Business Language Version 2.2Âfrom the OASIS Universal Business Language TC, and XLIFF Version 2.1Âfrom the OASIS XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) TC.Â

Our congratulations to all the TC participants for their outstanding accomplishments this past year. Thanks also to the OASIS Technical Advisory Board (TAB) for taking on the difficult job of selecting winners from what was an extremely impressive field of nominees.
