Departure of OASIS Executive Director Guy Martin

A message from Gershon Janssen, Board Chair:

OASIS members,

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am writing to notify you of Guy Martinâs departure, effective March 31, 2022,Â as Executive Director of OASIS to accept a new opportunity with an international software company.

Guy joined OASIS in 2020, a week before the global pandemic began. We relied on him to steer the organization through some uniquely challenging times. Under Guyâs leadership, we formed the OASIS Open Europe Foundation, grew our Open Projects program, completed a major refresh of our brand and website, and achieved many other milestones. Some of you may know him best for his insightful Open Matters podcast.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and members, Iâd like to express our deepest appreciation for Guy and all that he accomplished for our community. We wish him the very best of luck in his next position. Happily, Guy has agreed to serve on our Open Projects Advisory Council, where he will continue to provide us with guidance and assistance based on his deep experience in the world of open source.Â

The OASIS Board will soon begin a search for our next Executive Director. With assistance from our staff, I will fulfill that role during the short transition period. Please contact me--or OASIS senior staff--with any questions or suggestions you have.
