Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (MQTT-159) 2.3 Variable Header

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/MQTT-159?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=36542#action_36542 ]

Peter Niblett commented on MQTT-159:
------------------------------------

The list of packet types that contain a Packet Identifier is called out in the very next line and also in a table a few lines further on. The only issue I can see here is that these are in 2.3.1 whereas the sentence being complained about is in 2.3

> 2.3 Variable Header
> -------------------
>
> Key: MQTT-159
> URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/MQTT-159
> Project: OASIS Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) TC
> Issue Type: Bug
> Environment: Grammar
> Reporter: Patrick Durusau
>
> 2.3 Variable Header reads:
> *****
> Some types of MQTT Control Packets contain a variable header component. It resides between the fixed header and the payload. The content of the variable header varies depending on the Packet type, however one field - the Packet Identifier - is common to several packet types.
> *****
> The better practice is to not say *Some types* or *several packet types."
> If it is important information, spell out which MQTT Control Packets have a variable header component. and list the packet types with a Packet Identifier.
> Otherwise the text is vague and every users must puzzle that out for themselves. You use some/Some a total of ten times in the draft.
