Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Updated: (MQTT-162) 2.1.2.1 Dup - setting of Dup flag

Andrew Banks updated MQTT-162:
------------------------------

    Proposal:
Change to:

The value of the Dup flag from an incoming PUBLISH packet is not propagated when the PUBLISH Packet is sent to subscribers by the Server. The Dup flag in the outgoing PUBLISH packet is set independently to the incoming PUBLISH packet, its value MUST be determined soley by whether the outgoing PUBLISH packet is a retransmission. [MQTT-2.1.2-6].

was:Suggested language that might (or might not!) be clearer.

> 2.1.2.1 Dup reads in part:
> *****
> The value of the Dup flag from an incoming PUBLISH packet is not propagated when the PUBLISH Packet is sent to subscribers by the Server. The Dup flag in the outgoing PUBLISH packet MUST BE set independently to the incoming PUBLISH packet.
> *****
> I stumbled over this. Do you mean the Dup flag is set/reset by a Server on transmission or retransmisson of the packet?
> Try:
> The Dup flag of a PUBLISH packet is set or reset by a Server when sending a PUBLISH packet.
> Note: "Set or reset" refer to the Server originating a PUBLISH packet (set) or forwarding a PUBLISH packet (reset).
