Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (MQTT-335) "using this version of MQTT"

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/MQTT-335?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=64862#comment-64862 ]

Ken Borgendale commented on MQTT-335:
-------------------------------------

While I agree that we should not reference what to do for other versions of the spec, this was raised in the TC at the f2f in Hursley and the decision was this text. If we want to reopen this as an issue, it should be moved to core and discussed in the TC.

> I do not understand the mantra "using this version of MQTT". For example:
> 1711 A Server MUST send the Payload Format Indicator unaltered to all subscribers receiving the publication,
> 1712 using this version of MQTT.
> 1786 The Server MUST send the Reply Topic unaltered to all subscribers receiving the publication which use
> 1787 this version of MQTT.
> [There are more cases]
> It's implicit that the behavior applies to "this version of MQTT" since the WD is about MQTT version 5 and not some other version.
