[ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/MQTT-386?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=64997#comment-64997 ] Ken Borgendale commented on MQTT-386: ------------------------------------- Topic Name and Topic Filter are global and fundamental concepts of MQTT. Topic Alias is a localized method of abbreviating the Topic Name. It has no functional significance and is purely a means of shaving a few bytes off the size of the data stream. > Question -Should Topic Alias be included in Terminology? > -------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: MQTT-386 > URL: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/MQTT-386 > Project: OASIS Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) TC > Issue Type: Bug > Components: edits > Affects Versions: 5, wd10 > Reporter: Brian Raymor > Priority: Trivial > Fix For: 5, wd10 > > > Would it be helpful for readers to introduce Topic Alias after: > 387 Topic Name: -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.2.2#6258)
