Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (MQTT-440) Names in Appendix a should be in normal format

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/MQTT-440?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=66577#comment-66577 ]

Rahul Gupta commented on MQTT-440:

So we need to know how far back in time we need to get the participants list. I extracted the roster and took the participants list starting June/July last year when the official TC for v5 was formed. Then from that list extracted the list of participants who joined more than zero meetings. If we need to go back in time we just need to know till when and that member list could be extracted.

So the suggestion is to use
Givenname Surname format
Sort by Givenname ?
Is that the consensus for Appendix A ?

> Names in Appendix a should be in normal format
> ----------------------------------------------
> Key: MQTT-440
> URL: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/MQTT-440
> Project: OASIS Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) TC
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: edits
> Affects Versions: 5, wd14
> Reporter: Ken Borgendale
> Priority: Minor
> Fix For: 5
> The names in Appendix A are now collated by surname which is the normal name collation for European cultures. However, they were also changed to be in sir-name, given-name orger which is not the standard name format in these cultures.
> We should change the names to givenname surame order.
> Also, there are many names in the Appendix A of MQTT v3.1.1 which are not in Appendix A of MQTT v5.0. My understanding is that the list should include anybody on the MQTT TC either before or after the recharter since a significant amount of the text in MQTTv5.0 is taken from the MQTT v3.1.1 text.
