Public Review Begins for Emergency Management Spec

The OASIS Emergency Management TC has approved the Common
Alerting Protocol (CAP) v1.0 as a Committee Draft, and is
starting a 30-day public review that concludes 30 Nov. CAP is an open
specification for the exchange of emergency alerts and public warnings over
data networks and computer-controlled systems.  The TC plans to submit CAP
to the OASIS membership for consideration as an OASIS Standard in Dec.

Public Review Begins for OASIS ebXML Registry Specs

The OASIS ebXML Registry TC has approved v2.1 of the ebXML Registry
Information Model (RIM) and ebXML Registry Services (RS) specs as
Committee Drafts, and is initiating a 30-day public review that concludes 30
Nov. The specs allow information to be shared between interested parties
through common registries. They are part of the suite of ebXML standards
that enable enterprises of any size in any global region to conduct business
using the Internet.
 Following the review period, the TC intends to submit the specs to the
OASIS membership for consideration as OASIS Standards.

Music Notation Discussion List Created

OASIS has formed a new discussion list to explore the potential of advancing
a standard for Music Notation. OASIS membership is not required for
participation in the discussion list, which will be open until 4 Feb.
