ADVL v1.0 Becomes an Approved OASIS Committee Draft

The OASIS Application Vulnerability Description Language (AVDL) TC has now
begun the 30-day public review period of the AVDL v1.0 Specification and
related XML Schema which will conclude on 7 March 2004. This specification
describes a standard XML format that allows entities (such as applications,
organizations, or institutes) to communicate
information regarding web application vulnerabilities.

OASIS at the RSA Conference

**	The OASIS Security Assertion Markup Language Standard (SAML) V1.1
Interoperability Lab will be demonstrated on 25-26 February at the 2004 RSA
Conference
in San Francisco in the OASIS booth on the exhibition floor at the Moscone
Center. The OASIS showcase is sponsored by the U.S. General Services
Administration, hosted by RSA Security, and co-sponsored by Sun
Microsystems, and will feature Computer Associates, DataPower Technology,
Entrust, Hewlett-Packard, Oblix, OpenNetwork, RSA Security, Sun Microsystems
and others. The OASIS Interop Lab will include a demonstration of the
SAML-based architecture being deployed with the GSA's eGov eAuthentication
initiative.

**	The OASIS Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) TC will preview the draft
PKI Action Plan at the 2004 RSA Conference in the Moscone Center during a
reception in Room 120 at 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesday, 25 February. The OASIS
PKI TC has posted a draft PKI Action Plan for public review, inviting
comments and support from PKI customers, vendors, experts, and others.  This
plan is designed to address obstacles to PKI deployment and usage identified
through collected surveys. To receive an invitation to the reception
to discuss the PKI Action Plan and meet members of the OASIS PKI TC, please
contact dee.schur@oasis-open.org.

Register for the OASIS Symposium

Make plans *now* to attend the OASIS Symposium on Reliable Infrastructures,
26-27 April, New Orleans. OASIS' original block of sleeping rooms has
already sold
out and been extended, but space remains at a premium. In order to secure
the additional meeting space we need for our technical committees, it is
vital that members register and reserve sleeping rooms at the Marriott ASAP.
