OASIS News 16 March 2004 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Vote to Begin For Two New OASIS Standards Common Alerting Protocol v1.0 Committee Draft from the OASIS Emergency Management TC and Web Services Security v1.0 Committee Draft from the OASIS Web Services Security TC have successfully completed the public review periods. A Call For Vote will soon be released to each OASIS member organization, voter input should be directed to the organization's voting representative. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200403/msg00014.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- Three New TCs Begin Work at OASIS * A Call for Participation has been issued for the OASIS Web Services Resource Framework (WSRF) TC. The OASIS WSRF TC will define a set of royalty-free, interoperable, and modular specifications supporting a generic and open framework for modeling and accessing Web services resources. The OASIS WSN TC has been chartered to define a set of specifications that standardize the way Web services interact using the Notification pattern. The OASIS LegalXML (SDHI) TC will develop a consistent XML interface identifier (e.g., a telephone number) that is a response to an XML request from a judicial, public safety, or law enforcement authority. Interested participants should join by 13 April in order to contribute to the first meeting on 28 April. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200403/msg00012.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS CAM Committee Spec v1.0 Review Process Begins The OASIS Content Assembly Mechanism (CAM) TC has approved v1.0 of the CAM Specification as a Committee Draft, and now starts a 45-day public review prior to submitting this spec to OASIS members for consideration as an OASIS Standard. CAM provides an open XML based system for using business rules to define, validate and compose specific business documents from generalized schema elements and structures. The first step is to review your organization's user roster, confirm its accuracy, and make note of your Voting Rep. (Edits may be made directly by your Primary or Admin Contact or by sending change requests to member_services@oasis-open.org.) On Wednesday 28 April, OASIS and CommerceNet join forces to present Reliable Infrastructure for eHealth, a one-day Workshop designed to investigate the relationships between the standards that exist today and identify solutions to the road ahead.
