OASIS NEWS 13 July 2004 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. --------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Announces New Board Members OASIS is pleased to announce the results of the 2004 elections for the Board of Directors and Technical Advisory Board. Mike DeNicola of Fujitsu was elected and Ed Cobb of BEA, Colin Evans of Intel, Frederick Hirsch of Nokia, and Jeff Mischkinsky of Oracle were re-elected by the OASIS membership to serve two-year terms beginning 30 July 2004. The Consortium also announced the nomination and subsequent appointment of three new members to the OASIS TAB, Jacques Durand of Fujitsu, Jishnu Mukerji of Hewlett Packard, and Timothy Stevens of Lexis-Nexis. The consortium would like to express appreciation to departing Board member, Laura Walker, and departing TAB members, Derek Coleman of Hewlett Packard, Chet Ensign of Lexis-Nexis, Jackson He of Intel, and Krishna Sankar of Cisco Systems, for their service and guidance over the past two years. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200407/msg00001.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- Plan to Attend OASIS Adoption Forum on Public Policy and Open Standards for E-Business The Consortium will host "Implementing E-Business Open Standards for End Users and Public Administration" on 6 October in Brussels, Belgium. This one-day event is designed for providers, integrators, and users of e-business systems for public administrations and private enterprises. Speakers and attendees will explore the breadth of what can be achieved today using work underway in the e-business open standards community. Presentations will enable organizations to learn about the development and adoption of open standards in areas such as Web services implementation, e-government, transactional security and localization.
