TC Submits OASIS WSDM 1.0 for Public Review

The OASIS Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) TC has approved the
WSDM: Management Using Web Services (MUWS) 1.0 and WSDM: Management Of Web
Services (MOWS) 1.0 specifications for public review. WSDM: MUWS 1.0 is a
framework that enables management applications to be built using Web
services, as well as allowing resources to be controlled by multiple
managers through one set of instrumentation. WSDM: MOWS 1.0 defines a
manageability model for utilizing Web services as a resource, and sets rules
for describing and accessing that manageability through MUWS. The review
will continue until 10 Jan, and comments are solicited from all interested
parties.

TC Approves UDDI as OASIS Committee Draft

The OASIS Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) TC has
approved UDDI version 3 (release 3.0.2) as a Committee Draft. This
represents the second minor update to the UDDI specification, which serves
as a "meta service" for locating Web services by enabling robust queries
against rich metadata. The public review of UDDI V3 was completed on 1 Dec,
and the specification is currently being prepared for balloting to become an
OASIS Standard.

OASIS Extends Symposium Call for Participation Deadline

Due to a number of requests from potential contributors, the deadline to
submit topics for next year's OASIS Symposium has been extended. Proposals
for presentations, panel sessions, and topics related to the development or
use of business vocabularies may be submitted through the event web site
until 12 Jan 2005.
