OASIS NEWS 3 February 2005 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. --------------------------------------------------------------------- UDDI and XACML Approved as OASIS Standards Both the UDDI v3.0.2 and the XACML v2.0 specifications have been voted on and approved as OASIS Standards. The UDDI v3.0.2 specification, developed by the OASIS Universal Description, Discovery and Integration TC, serves to define a registry service for Web services and for other electronic and non-electronic services. The XACML v2.0 specification, which was developed by the OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language TC, defines a standard access control policy language. The TC members and chairs are to be congratulated on their work in developing and approving these specifications. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200502/msg00003.html http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200502/msg00000.html ------------------------------------------------------------------ OASIS Standard Balloting Opens Soon for WSDM and SAML 2.0 The OASIS Web Services Distributed Management TC has completed the public review period for the WSDM specification, and has recommended its advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. The familiarization period, which began 1 Feb, will end on 15 Feb. A Call for Vote will be sent to the voting representative of each OASIS member on 16 Feb. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200502/msg00002.html The OASIS Security Services TC has completed the public review period for the SAML v2.0 specification and has recommended its advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. Five candidates were nominated for the position including Winston Bumpus of Dell, Bob Glushko of the University of California at Berkley, Ron Lake of Galdos Systems, Paul Lipton of Computer Associates, and Claus Von Riegen of SAP AG.
