OASIS IPR Policy Revised



The OASIS Board of Directors has recently approved a revised version of the
OASIS Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy, as well as an IPR
Transition Policy. Both policy documents go into effect as of 15 Apr 2005.
To assist with transition, FAQs have been created for both documents, and it
is recommended that members review these in order to make the transition as
smooth as possible.

OASIS Standard Balloting Opens for WSDM and SAML 2.0



The OASIS Web Services Distributed Management TC has completed the public
review period for the WSDM specification, and has recommended its
advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. The familiarization
period has ended, and a Call for Vote has been sent to the voting
representative of each of the OASIS member organizations.

The OASIS Security Services TC has completed the public review period for
the SAML v2.0 specification and has recommended its advancement for approval
to become an OASIS Standard. The familiarization period has ended, and a

Public Reviews of ebXML RIM, ebXML RS, and DITA Are Currently Underway



The OASIS ebXML Registry TC has approved both the ebXML Registry Information
Model (RIM) 3.0 and the ebXML Registry Services (RS) 3.0 specifications as
Committee Drafts, and submitted them for public review. The OASIS ebXML
Registry TC aims to create a method for defining and managing interoperable
registries and repositories. Both ebXML RIM, and ebXML RS will be available
for public review until 14 Mar. Comments are solicited from all interested
parties.

The OASIS Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) TC recently approved
DITA 1.0 as a Committee Draft, and submitted the specification for public
review. DITA is a document creation and management system that builds
content reuse into the authoring process. The specification will be
available for public review until 15 Mar, and comments are solicited from
all interested parties.

OASIS Announces the Formation of the OASIS SOA-RM TC



A Call for Participation has been issued for the OASIS Service Oriented
Architecture Reference Model (SOA-RM) TC. The OASIS SOA-RM TC aims to
establish a reference model in order to encourage the continued growth of
various SOA implementations while preserving a common layer that can be
shared between current or future implementations. Interested OASIS members
are encouraged to join this TC.

OASIS UDDI Specification TC Hosts Webcast



The leaders of the OASIS UDDI Specification Technical Committee will provide
insight on the features, functionality, and business value of the recently
approved UDDI v3.0.2 specification during an informational webcast to be
held 22 Feb at 3:00 pm EST. OASIS members, potential TC members, editors,
and analysts who track Web services or SOA are all encouraged to attend.

OASIS Demonstrates SAML Interoperability for GSA E-Gov's E-Authentication
Initiative



Thirteen vendors from around the world, in conjunction with the U.S. General
Service Administration (GSA) E-Gov E-Authentication Initiative, gathered to
demonstrate interoperability of the Security Assertion Markup Language
(SAML) Version 2 specification. SAML 2.0, which enables the secure exchange
of authentication, attribute, and authorization information between
disparate security domains, was demonstrated through a combination of web
single sign-on and single logout scenarios.
