XRI Syntax Submitted for Consideration as a Standard

The OASIS Extensible Resource Identifier (XRI) TC has submitted XRI Syntax v2.0 for consideration as an OASIS standard.  XRI Syntax
defines a royalty-free URI-compatible scheme and resolution protocol for abstract identifiers used to identify and share resources
across domains and applications. Consortium members should forward input to the voting member of their TC by 15 Dec.

OASIS OpenDocument Accessibility Subcommittee Forms

The OASIS OpenDocument TC has formed a subcommittee to address issues surrounding accessibility. The objective of this effort will
be to ensure that people with disabilities will be able to properly access the content in OpenDocument-compliant files.

OASIS Announces DIPAL Discussion List

In response to member requests, a discussion list for a possible new OASIS Domain-Independent Policy Assertion Language (DIPAL) TC
has been created.  The proposed TC would develop a language that would layer on top of any Boolean Web services policy framework,
including WS-Policy. The discussion list will be used to determine whether there is sufficient interest to form the TC. OASIS
Membership is not required for participation in this discussion.

Public Review of WS-Context Commences

The OASIS Web Services Composite Application Framework (WS-CAF) TC recently approved WS-Context v1.0 as a Committee Draft and has
submitted the package for public review. WS-Context defines an open framework for supporting coordinated and transactional
compositions of multiple Web services applications. All interested parties are encouraged to submit comments by 15 Dec.

Conference on Localisation Standards Verification Features OASIS Work

A one-day introduction to OASIS XLIFF and Translation Web Services specifications will be featured at the first annual Conference on
Localisation Standards Verification in Dublin, Ireland 14-15 Dec 2005. Hosted by IGNITE, the event is an EU-funded initiative that
will pool linguistic infrastructure resources and develop methodologies for the verification of standards compliance.
