Public Review of WSRP Commences

The OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets TC has approved the Web Services for
Remote Portlets (WSRP) v2.0 as a Committee Draft and submitted the
specification for pubic review. WSRP provides standardized,
presentation-oriented Web services for use by aggregating intermediaries, such
as portals. The public review remains open until 13 August. All interested

OASIS UnitsML TC Forms

OASIS has issued a call for participation for the OASIS Units Markup Language
(UnitsML) TC, which will hold its inaugural meeting via teleconference on 12
July. The new committee will define an XML-based specification to enable the
unambiguous representation of units of measure. This work has been proposed by
representatives of Boeing, Lockheed Martin, NIST, and others. Simon Frechette
of NIST serves as the TC convener. The TC will operate under the Royalty Free
on Limited Terms Mode, as specified in the OASIS Intellectual Property Rights
Policy.

OpenDocument XML.org Editorial Board Schedules First Meeting

The editorial board for the future OpenDocument XML.org online community will
hold its first teleconference meeting on Wednesday, 21 June, at 15:00 UTC. All
interested OASIS members are invited to join this call and participate on the
editorial board, which will oversee and promote the use of the site. The
OpenDocument OASIS Standard (ISO/IEC 26300) provides a format that enables
users of varying office suites to freely exchange documents. For information on

Burton Catalyst Attendees Applaud SPML OASIS InterOp

Six companies, including BMC Software, CA, Citrix, Oracle, and Sun,
successfully demonstrated interoperability of the Service Provisioning Mark-up
Language (SPML) OASIS Standard v2.0 at the Burton Catalyst conference in San
Francisco on 14 June. The demo showcased SPML's ability to allow companies to
manage the provisioning and allocation of identity information and system
resources within and between organizations. The OASIS InterOp was well received
by users from large and mid-size companies and by members of the media,
including security solutions analysts. Special thanks to Jeff Bohren of BMC
Software and Gavenraj Sodhi of CA for their efforts in organizing the event.

TCs interested in conducting OASIS InterOps should contact
dee.schur@oasis-open.org for details on the program.
