Discussion List for UOML Seeks Participants

OASIS has opened a public mail list for the discussion of a possible new
OASIS Unstructured Operation Markup Language (UOML) TC. UOML defines an
XML schema for universal document operations. The proposers plan to
contribute UOML to an TC if it is formed, for further review and
refinement. The schema is suitable for operating written documents,
including create, view, modify, query information that can be printed in
paper, e.g. books, magazine, newspaper, office documents, maps,
drawings, blueprints, but is not restricted to these kinds of documents.
Anyone, including OASIS members and non-members, may subscribe to this
list by sending a message to:

OASIS Revises Membership Categories and Dues

The Consortium's Board of Directors has approved a set of revised
membership categories and dues, effective 1 September 2006 for new
memberships and 1 January 2007 for renewals. The changes address a
variety of concerns and reflect much member input. While the existing
levels of OASIS membership remain the same, additional categories are
being offered at each level to provide greater parity and better
accommodate organizations of different sizes and types. Dues (which have
remained stable since 2002) have been adjusted in order to maintain the
financial health and capability of the consortium, to fund needed
services, and to more equitably distribute the cost of supporting OASIS
work.
