Universal Business Language v2.0 Approved As An OASIS Standard

UBL 2.0 has been approved as an OASIS Standard. UBL defines a common XML
library of business documents (purchase orders, invoices, etc.). OASIS
congratulates the TC, and the community of implementers, developers and
users who have brought the work successfully to culmination.

International Organization for Standardization Publishes OpenDocument

The OpenDocument ISO Standard, which was approved by ISO in May 2006, 
has now been published as ISO/IEC 26300:2006, and is available in the 
ISO store. The equivalent OpenDocument v1.0 OASIS standard is available 
at the OASIS web site.

Discussion List Opens for OASIS DITA S1000D Interoperability

OASIS has created a new discussion list to explore the possibility of
forming a technical committee to advance DITA S1000D interoperability.
DITA is an OASIS XML markup standard designed for topic-based authoring
and re-use. S1000D, also an XML markup standard designed for re-use is
aimed primarily at civil and military equipment documentation. This mail
list will remain open for 90 days. Anyone, including OASIS members and
non-members, may subscribe to this list in order to discuss the merits
and possibility of the proposed project.

OASIS Symposium 2007 Call for Participation Ends Soon

Time is running out to submit a presentation, tutorial, or panel session
for the OASIS Symposium, to be held on 15-20 April 2007 in San Diego,
USA. The proposal deadline is 15 December 2006. The theme of the
Symposium is "eBusiness and Open Standards: Understanding the Facts,
Fiction, and Future". The OASIS Technical Advisory Board invites
proposals for talks, panel sessions and tutorials related to the
technology, business practices, and market of eBusiness and eGovernment.
