Testing and Monitoring Internet Exchanges (TaMIE) TC forms

Members of OASIS have formed a new TC to define an event-centric test case
scripting markup and execution model for SOA systems. Proposers of the OASIS
TaMIE TC include representatives of Axway, Fujitsu, US National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST), and others. The TC's first meeting will be a
teleconference on 28 Jan. New participants are welcome.

OASIS Standard ballot on XLIFF 1.2 opens soon 

The OASIS XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF) TC has submitted
XLIFF 1.2 to be considered as an OASIS Standard. XLIFF enables localizable data
to be stored and carried from one step of the localization process to the
other, while allowing interoperability between tools. On 16 Jan, a call for
vote on XLIFF 1.2 will be issued to all OASIS member organizations. Members who
wish to discuss this ballot may do so through
member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.

Nortel SOA executive to keynote at Open Standards 2008 Symposium

OASIS is pleased to announce that Peter Carbone, vice president of SOA at
Nortel, will provide the keynote address at 'Open Standards 2008: Composability
within SOA.' His presentation is entitled, 'Communications Enabled Applications
- An Evolution to the Next Value Plane?'. Carbone is an experienced telecom
executive who has held a diverse range of positions for Nortel, including Chief
Technology Officer, General Manager Preside eCommerce, CTO Public Data Networks
and VP of Systems Engineering. Carbone is currently Vice Chair of IT
Association of Canada (ITAC) and Chair of ITAC Committee on Global
Competitiveness of Canada's Knowledge Economy. The Open Standards 2008
Symposium will be held 28 April through 1 May in Santa Clara, California.

Members prepare to demo XACML interoperability at RSA 2008

At the RSA Conference 2008 in San Francisco, April 7-11, nine organizations
will come together to demonstrate interoperability of the eXtensible Access
Control Markup Language (XACML) 2.0 OASIS Standard. Simulating a real world
scenario provided by the US Veterans Health Administration, the demo will show
how XACML ensures successful authorization decision requests and the exchange
of authorization policies. Participants include BEA Systems, IBM, Oracle, Red
Hat, Securent, Sun Microsystems, and others. Contact jane.harnad@oasis-open.org
