OASIS Standard votes on XRI Syntax and XRI Resolution open

Balloting for two specifications, the eXtensible Resource Identifier (XRI)
Syntax version 2.0 and the XRI Resolution 2.0, is underway now and will remain
open until 31 May. Building on the foundation of URIs (Uniform Resource
Identifiers) and IRIs (Internationalized Resource Identifiers), XRIs provide a
standard means of abstractly identifying a resource independent of any concrete
representation. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote;
those who wish to discuss this ballot may do so through
member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.

OASIS solicits feedback on proposed charters for OAXAL and SET TCs

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to
establish the OASIS Open Architecture for XML Authoring and Localization
(OAXAL) TC. OAXAL represents a method to exploit technical documentation assets
by extending the usefulness of core XML-related standards in a comprehensive,
open standards-based architecture. Proposers include a representative of
Sponsor member, Comtech Services, and others.

Members are also asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish
the OASIS Semantic Support for Electronic Business Document Interoperability
(SET) TC. The group intends to specify semantic mechanisms to achieve
interoperability among document standards based on UN/CEFACT CCTS by continuing
work initiated in the iSURF Project.

The comment period for both charters closes 26 May.
