OASIS announces results of Board and TAB elections

Members elected Bob Freund of Hitachi and Jim Hughes of Microsoft and reelected Bob Glushko of the University of California at Berkeley, Frederick Hirsch of Nokia, Paul Knight of Nortel, and Jeff Mischkinsky of Oracle to the OASIS Board of Directors. Patrick Gannon received sufficient votes for an elected Board seat but withdrew his candidacy for personal reasons. The new Board members will be seated on 31 Jul.
Members also elected Toby Considine of the University of North Carolina and reelected Abbie Barbir of Nortel, Jacques Durand of Fujitsu, and Andy Lee of Changfeng Open Standards Platform Software Alliance to the Technical Advisory Board. The new TAB members will be seated on 1 Aug.

OASIS expresses deep appreciation to Ed Cobb of BEA for his guidance on the Board of Directors since 2002. A special note of appreciation also goes to Patrick Gannon for his past service as Board Director, President, and CEO. The consortium also recognizes Bill Barnhill of Booz Allen Hamilton for his long-time participation on the TAB.

Proposers include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsors, IBM and Oracle, as well as Sponsor member, Comtech, and others.
