Jim Hughes of Microsoft and Frederick Hirsh of Nokia will continue in their respective roles as Treasurer and Secretary. The geographic and organizational diversity of the entire Board bodes well for ensuring that the broad interests of the OASIS membership at-large are represented in the year ahead. Congratulations to all. http://www.oasis-open.org/who/bod.php ------------------------------------------------------------------- Board approves revisions to TC Process Major changes include the introduction of a "Persistent Non-Voting Member" Committee role, the requirement to include Primary Rep statements of support on TC charter submissions, and the clarification on how to handle discrepancies in schemas associated with specs. The effective date of the revisions is 1 September 2009. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200908/msg00000.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Public review begins for three SCA Bindings specs Versions 1.1 of the Service Component Architecture (SCA) Web Service Binding, SCA JMS Binding, and SCA JCA Binding specifications define bindings for SOA services and references to communication protocols, technologies, and frameworks. "Transparent Government: Risks, Rewards, Repercussions" will be the theme of the event, which will be held 29-30 September at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
