Eligible recipients of these free memberships (each a 1100 USD value) will be universities or colleges that are able to provide at least one representative to actively participate in one or more Technical Committees related to OASIS Blue. Contact member-services@oasis-open.org for details.

Members propose QUOMOS TC

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Quantities and Units of Measure Ontology Standard (QUOMOS) Technical Committee. QUOMOS will include a core set of ontology modules covering quantities, units, scales, dimensions, base and derived SI units and their relationships, and extension mechanisms to allow the later inclusion of non-SI units and other measurement systems. QUOMOS TC proposers include representatives of the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and others; Howard Mason of BAE Systems serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter closes 7 Dec.
