Welcome to OASIS News, a bi-weekly update of announcements, accomplishments,
and activities for the international open standards consortium.

Gutentag resigns, OASIS Board holds Special Election

The consortium expresses deepest gratitude to Eduardo Gutentag of Sun
Microsystems, who has resigned his position on the OASIS Board of Directors.
Eduardo's leadership at the Board level will be missed, however, he will
continue to be involved in OASIS TCs. A Special Election will he held to
fill his term, which runs to July 2011. Nominations will be accepted through
11 Mar.


OASIS Standard vote opens for WebCGM 2.1

Balloting for WebCGM 2.1 is now underway and will close 28 Feb. WebCGM is a
profile of the Computer Graphics Metafile (ISO/IEC 8632:1999) optimized for
Web applications in technical illustration, electronic documentation,
geophysical data visualization, and similar fields. The specification was
developed by representatives of Boeing, PTC, and others. All organizational
members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on WebCGM; those who wish to discuss
the ballot may do so through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.

SCA Client and Implementation Model public review begins

The Service Component Architecture (SCA)/C and C++ TC has submitted two
Client and Implementation models for public review. This work is part of the
suite of SCA specifications which describe a model for building applications
and systems using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). This public review
ends 2 Mar.


Moravia and WeWebU become OASIS Sponsors

Moravia Worldwide provides translation, localization, and testing services

infrastructure via a unified, process-oriented working environment that

WS-Calendar TC presents webinar

This free webinar will provide background and discussion for all those
considering participation in the OASIS WS-Calendar TC. This webinar will
take place 19 Feb.


Making Privacy Operational presents webinar

OASIS presents a complimentary webinar to discuss the anticipated formation
of a new privacy management TC. This webinar will take place 23 Feb.


Kim Goolsby joins OASIS staff

As OASIS Publications Specialist, Kim will work with TC editors to help them
ensure their documents conform to consortium standards. She is the newest
addition to the TC Administration staff, which is headed by Mary McRae.
