ISIS Papyrus becomes OASIS Foundational Sponsor

ISIS Papyrus offers a consolidated, end-to-end solution for inbound and
outbound communications and process management. Its business communication
platform uses a repository to consolidate business rules, document
management and Case Management. The Swiss-based ISIS Papyrus Group maintains
its operational headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in 15

highest level of commitment to open standards. We gratefully recognize their
support in advancing the work of OASIS and enabling the Consortium to
fulfill its mission.

WebCGM 2.1 becomes OASIS Standard

Members have approved the Web profile of Computer Graphics Metafile (WebCGM)
version 2.1 as an OASIS Standard. WebCGM adds Web linking for CGM, and is
optimized for Web applications in technical illustration, electronic
documentation, geophysical data visualization, and similar fields.
Congratulations to the WebCGM TC chair, Stuart Galt of The Boeing Company,
and to all TC participants including representatives of Boeing and PTC for
this accomplishment.

Members propose Identity in the Clouds TC

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to
establish the OASIS Identity in the Clouds Technical Committee. The Identity
in the Clouds TC will work to harmonize the definitions, terminologies, and
vocabulary of Identity in the context of Cloud Computing. The work will
define use cases and profiles to identify gaps in existing Identity
Management standards as they apply in the cloud. The Identity in the Clouds
proposers include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsors, IBM and
Microsoft, as well as CA, Novell, Red Hat, SafeNet, and others. Abbie Barbir
serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter closes
6 Mar.

UIML TC closes

The OASIS User Interface Markup Language Technical Committee has completed
its work and is now closed. We thank the members and leadership of the UIML
TC for their contributions and dedication. The work that the TC produced
during its tenure can be found on its web pages and mailing list archives,
which will remain publicly accessible.

Emergency TC approves EDXL Errata

The Emergency Management TC has approved Errata for two Emergency Data
Exchange Language (EDXL) standards-Hospital AVailability Exchange (HAVE) 1.0
and Resource Messaging (RM) 1.0. EDXL-HAVE enables communication of the
status of hospital services and resources including bed capacity and
emergency room availability. EDXL-RM allows requests for emergency
equipment, supplies, people and teams to be shared among responders,
administrators, and providers.

The Service Component Architecture/Assembly (SCA-Assembly) Model
Specification version 1.1 defines the configuration of an SCA domain in
terms of composites that contain assemblies of service components and the
connections that describe how they are linked together. This public review
ends 4 Mar.

OpenDocument 1.0 Errata public review begins

Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) provides an open
XML-based document file format for office applications. This public review
ends 14 Mar.

LegalXML Steering Committee announces election results

Monica Palmirani of the University of Bologna School of Law and Robert
O'Brien have been elected to two-year terms on the OASIS LegalXML Member
Section Steering Committee. LegalXML produces standards for electronic court
filing, court documents, legal citations, transcripts, criminal justice
