Welcome to OASIS News, a bi-weekly update of announcements, accomplishments,
and activities for the international open standards consortium.

Elections underway for OASIS Board of Directors and TAB 

Successful candidates will serve until July 2012. OASIS Foundational,
Sponsor, and Contributor members are asked to vote (one ballot per
organization) by 23 June.


OASIS Standard vote opens for CAP 1.2

Balloting for the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) version 1.2 is now underway
and will close 30 Jun. CAP 1.2 describes a general format for exchanging
all-hazard emergency alerts and public warnings over a variety of network
types. The specification was developed by representatives of AtHoc, Desktop
Alert, Environment Canada, Sandia National Laboratories, US Department of
Warning Systems, and others. All organizational members of OASIS are
encouraged to vote on CAP 1.2; those who wish to discuss the ballot may do
so through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.


WS-Calendar 1.0 public review begins

WS-Calendar describes a common set of message components for specifying
schedules and intervals to coordinate activities between Web services. The
public review ends 20 Jun.


Emergency Management TC seeks feedback from EDXL-DE users 

The Emergency Management TC seeks input from users who have implemented the
EDXL-Distribution Element (DE). Use cases, requirements for new elements,
enhancements to existing elements, and other suggestions are welcome. This
feedback will form the basis for discussion and consensus on possible
changes and enhancements to EDXL-DE.

IDtrust cosponsors European e-Identity Conference

The European e-Identity Management Conference, which will be held 9-10 June
in London, will include a special focus on the challenges and strategies for
Identity Management in the Cloud, along with the technical, business and
legal issues currently affecting the implementation of e-identity projects.
OASIS members receive a discount off registration.


Open CSA holds Steering Committee elections

Elections are now underway for four seats on the Open Composite Services
Architecture (Open CSA) Member Section Steering Committee. Open CSA advances
open standards that simplify SOA application development--the Service
Component Architecture (SCA) and Service Data Objects (SDO) families of
specifications. Elections end 15 Jun.
