The consortium expresses deep appreciation to outgoing Board members, Bob Glushko of the University of California Berkeley and Paul Knight. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/201006/msg00005.html ----------------------------------------------------------- CAP 1.2 becomes OASIS Standard Members have approved the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) 1.2 as an OASIS Standard. CAP is a widely adopted format for exchanging all-hazard emergency alerts and public warnings over all kinds of networks. Congratulations to the Emergency Management TC chair, Elysa Jones of Warning Systems, Inc. (WSI), and to all TC participants including representatives of AtHoc, Desktop Alert, Environment Canada, Sandia National Laboratories, US Department of Defense, WSI, and others. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201007/msg00000.html ----------------------------------------------------------- Members propose Privacy Management TC A draft charter to establish the OASIS Privacy Management Reference Model (PMRM) Technical Committee proposes a work agenda to create a set of operationally focused privacy requirements for designing and implementing operational privacy controls. PMRM TC proposers include representatives of CA Technologies, US NIST, and others. Michael Willett of ISTPA serves as convener. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201006/msg00007.html ----------------------------------------------------------- OpenDocument (ODF) 1.2 public review begins ODF specifies an XML-based, application-independent and platform-independent, digital document file format, as well as the characteristics of software applications which read, write and process such documents. ODF 1.2 is applicable for text, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, drawings, charts, and other documents. The public review ends 5 Sept. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201007/msg00001.html ----------------------------------------------------------- Emergency Committee hosts EDXL webinar "Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) 101" will be the focus of a webinar that will explore how implementing EDXL standards can enhance information sharing in the emergency management and response domains. This webinar will also provide an overview of the NIMS Supporting Technology Evaluation Program, which evaluates EDXL products and publishes reports on the Responder Knowledge Base website. All are invited to attend, but pre-registration is required. The webinar will be held 15 Jul at 15:00 UTC (8:00 San Francisco, 11:00 Boston, 4:00 London, 5:00 Berlin). http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/announce/201006/msg00002.html ----------------------------------------------------------- OASIS eGov StC approves IP guidance document The Steering Committee of the eGov Member Section has approved "The Transition from IPv4 to IPv6: Removing Barriers".
