Welcome to OASIS News, a bi-weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international open standards consortium. ----------------------------------------------------------- In this issue: * Privacy Management Reference Model (PMRM) TC forms * Members propose Web Services Security Maintenance TC * New CMIS Subcommittee tackles browser-based applications * Web Services Quality Factors 1.0 public review begins * IDtrust announces Identity Management (IDM) 2010 program * Contributors welcome for OASIS-EU conference on Green Policy * Upcoming events ----------------------------------------------------------- Privacy Management Reference Model (PMRM) TC forms All interested parties are invited to participate in the new OASIS PMRM Technical Committee. This group will work on a standards-based framework to help business process engineers, IT analysts, and developers implement privacy and security policies in their operations. PMRM will be relevant for Cloud computing, the Smart Grid, social networking, healthcare, and many other areas affected by privacy policies. TC proposers include representatives of CA Technologies, the International Security, Trust & Privacy Alliance (ISTPA), U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), American Bar Association, Information Card Foundation, and others. Michael Willett of ISTPA is the convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held on 8 Sept. Contact join@oasis-open.org for details on participation. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201007/msg00005.html ----------------------------------------------------------- Members propose Web Services Security Maintenance TC A draft charter to establish the OASIS Web Services Security Maintenance (WSS-M) Technical Committee proposes a work agenda of ongoing maintenance for Web Services Security 1.1 and token profiles produced by the Web Services Security (WSS) TC, which is now closed. WSS-M TC proposers include representatives of Foundational Sponsors, IBM and Microsoft, as well as Sponsors, Fujitsu, Neustar, Oracle, and others. Tony Nadalin of Microsoft serves as convener. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201008/msg00000.html ----------------------------------------------------------- New CMIS Subcommittee tackles browser-based applications The Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) TC has formed a subcommittee to draft a new binding to CMIS that will make it easier for developers to build browser-based applications that use CMIS content. Gregory Melahn of IBM chairs the effort. This public review ends 20 Sept. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201007/msg00006.html ----------------------------------------------------------- IDtrust announces Identity Management (IDM) 2010 program Hosted at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., IDM 2010 will facilitate the open exchange of information between governments and technology experts on current identity management issues and solutions. Representatives from government and industry around the world are expected to come together to share information on technology development, implementation, risk management challenges, and success stories. The conference will be held 27-28 Sept. http://events.oasis-open.org/home/IDM/2010 ----------------------------------------------------------- Contributors welcome for OASIS-EU conference on Green Policy Opportunities to be recognized as a Contributor of the Green I.T. for Green Policy Conference are available for a limited time. This event, hosted by the 2010 Belgian Presidency of the European Union (EU) and OASIS, is expected to attract 350 senior-level policy makers from the public sector as well as top executives in the Energy, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Smart Buildings and related technology fields.
