Martin Chapman (Oracle) and Patrick Durusau (Individual member) were re-elected to the Technical Advisory Board. All will serve two-year terms, beginning 28-29 July. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/201106/msg00008.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open house mixer to celebrate new offices On 27 July, OASIS will host a networking reception for members and non-members following the consortium’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). The events will be held at the new corporate headquarters in Burlington, MA, USA. Members who are able to attend are asked to RSVP to member-services@oasis-open.org. Non-members are invited to RSVP for the mixer online. http://oasis-boston-mixer.eventbrite.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Members propose Trust Elevation TC All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Electronic Identity Credential Trust Elevation Methods (Trust Elevation) Technical Committee. The TC intends to define a set of standardized protocols that service providers may use to elevate trust when authenticating an electronic identity credential. Trust Elevation TC proposers include representatives of CA Technologies, Red Hat, U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. National Institutes of Health, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, and others. Peter Alterman of the U.S. NIST serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter closes 20 July. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201107/msg00000.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ebMS 3.0 Advanced Features becomes Committee Spec ebXML Messaging Services 3.0: Part 2, Advanced Features specifies advanced messaging functionality for message service configuration and message bundling. The review ends 15 July. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201106/msg00004.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OpenDocument 1.2 enters COS public review The OpenDocument Format (ODF) specifies characteristics of an XML-based application-independent and platform-independent digital document file format, as well as the characteristics of software applications that read, write, and process such documents. It builds on work being done at CalConnect and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The review ends 29 July. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201106/msg00007.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New video outlines importance of Intnl Cloud Symposium Peter Brown, chair of the OASIS Board of Directors, discusses the upcoming International Cloud Symposium (ICS) in a new video. He notes the event’s focus on public policy issues around privacy, trust, and security in the Cloud. Brown also cites the global perspective of the conference, which is being supported by the European Commission’s Siena Project and the U.S. NIST, with expected participation from Asia as well.
