OASIS AMQP Member Section forms; members propose TC

The Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) Member Section will
promote the further development and adoption of this business
messaging interoperability  specification for middleware, mobile, and
Cloud-based environments. The group invites member comment on a draft
charter to establish the OASIS AMQP Technical Committee. Supporters
include representatives of Bank of America, Deutsche Börse, INETCO,
JPMorgan Chase, Kaazing, Microsoft, my-Channels, Progress Software,
Red Hat, Software AG, VMware, and others. Angus Telfer of INETCO
serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter
closes 24 Aug.

Member video series premieres with Jay Brown of IBM

In "My Views on OASIS" members share their personal insights and
experiences with participating in open standards. Jay Brown of IBM
starts the series, discussing the value he receives from collaborating
with peers in the CMIS TC. The video is featured on the new OASIS
YouTube channel.

Election Markup Language (EML) 7.0 public review begins

EML is a standard for the structured interchange among hardware,
software, and service providers who engage in any aspect of providing
election or voter services to public or private organizations. This
public review ends 14 Sept.

Web Services Security 1.1.1 public review begins

This document integrates error corrections and editorial formatting
changes but does not add any new features to the WS-Security

Energy Interoperation 1.0 public review begins

This specification describes an information model and a communication
model to enable collaborative and transactive use of energy for
exchanging signals for dynamic pricing, reliability, and emergency, as
well as market participation information such as bids, load
predictability and generation data. This public review ends 26 Aug.

SAML 2.0 Change Notify Protocol 1.0 public review begins

The protocol describes request and response messages for informing
SAML endpoints about subject changes and attributes. This public

SCA Assembly Model 1.1 public review begins

The Service Component Architecture Assembly Model covers the assembly
of both tightly and loosely coupled services as well as infrastructure
capabilities including security and transactions. This public review

OASIS IT reschedules web site transition

The web server down-time that was originally announced for 27-28 Aug
has been rescheduled to 17-18 Sept. Except for one hour of routine
maintenance, all OASIS website and email assets will be available on
27-28 Aug.

Int'l Cloud Symposium (ICS) offers sponsorship opportunities

High-level government officials from around the world will explore the
intersection of policies, standards, and best practices with leaders
from the privacy, identity, and security industry at ICS. The event
will be held 10-14 October at the historic Ditton Manor near London. A
variety of sponsorship packages are available including a Solutions
Showcase for demoing cloud computing products. Current sponsors
include CA Technologies, IBM, and Microsoft.
