TOSCA 1.0 public review begins

The Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA) TC has submitted TOSCA 1.0 for consideration as an OASIS Standard. TOSCA enables the association of higher-level operational behaviors with cloud infrastructure management, which facilitates much higher levels of cloud service and solution portability. This public review ends 13 Sept.

IDtrust seeks Steering Committee candidates 

Nominations are now open for three seats on the IDtrust Steering Committee. IDtrust promotes greater understanding and adoption of standards-based identity and trusted infrastructure technologies, policies, and practices. All IDtrust participants are invited to nominate qualified candidates or consider serving. The deadline for nominations is 31 Jul; elections will be held 1-15 Aug.

This three-part public review includes OData 4.0, the OData Atom Format, and JSON Format. OData is a REST-based protocol that simplifies the querying and sharing of data across applications for re-use in the enterprise, Cloud, and mobile devices. This public review ends 24 Jul.

Int'l Systems Dynamics hosts XMILE briefing

All are invited to this information session on the XML Interchange Language (XMILE) for System Dynamics, a new OASIS TC that will develop an open protocol for sharing interoperable SD models and simulations. XMILE will enable the reuse of SD models with Big Data sets to show how different policies produce different outcomes in complex environments. The briefing will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts on 23 Jul. Steve Adler, IBM Information Strategist, and Karim Chichakly, isee systems Chief Architect, will lead the discussion. The XMILE TC will hold its first meeting on 24 Jul, also at the conference.
