NEW PROJECT:

OASIS to launch TC for delivering personalized digital experiences

The Context Server (CXS) TC will define a standard way for businesses to collect and share user behavioral data so they can provide consistent personalized experiences across multiple systems and channels. It aims to simplify management, integration, and interoperability between WCM, CRM, Big Data, Machine Learning, Digital Marketing, and Data Management Platforms. To be a CXS TC Co-Proposer, contact OASIS by 10 Mar.

XACML TC publishes Committee Specification

XACML 3.0 Privacy Policy Profile 1.0 describes how to use the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language for expressing privacy policies. Congratulations to XACML TC chairs, Hal Lockhart of Oracle and Bill Parducci; to representatives of Foundational Sponsors: IBM, Microsoft, and Primeton; to Sponsors: Boeing, CA Technologies, Cisco, Connectis, EMC, Oracle, Red Hat, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, ViewDS; and to all XACML TC members.

VIRTIO TC publishes Committee Specification

Virtual I/O Device (VIRTIO) 1.0 simplifies treatment of virtual devices, making them more extensible and more recognizable. The specification ensures that virtual environments and guests have a straightforward, standard mechanism for virtual devices, rather than boutique per-environment or per-OS mechanisms. Congratulations to VIRTIO TC chairs, Michael Tsirkin of Red Hat and Rusty Russell of IBM; to representatives of Foundational Sponsor: IBM; to Sponsors: M2MI, NetApp, Oracle, Red Hat, Thales e-Security; and to all VIRTIO TC members.

Public reviews begin for KMIP

A public review period is underway for 11 Committee Specifications developed by the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) TC in preparation for member ballots to consider them for OASIS Standards. KMIP is a single, comprehensive protocol for communication between clients that request any of a wide range of encryption keys and servers that store and manage those keys. By replacing redundant, incompatible key management protocols, KMIP provides better data security while at the same time reducing expenditures on multiple products. The public reviews end 18 Apr.

Eleven members to demonstrate in OASIS KMIP/PKCS #11 Showcase at RSA

Cryptosense, Cryptsoft, Feitian, and Oracle will show how PKCS #11 is used for interacting with cryptographic tokens and hardware security modules. Cryptsoft, Dell, Fornetix, HP, IBM, P6R, Thales e-Security, and Vormetric will demonstrate key management using KMIP. The RSA conference will be held 20-24 Apr in San Francisco. Free expo passes will be available for OASIS members; use the code "X5EOASIS" when registering.

European Identity & Cloud Conference to feature SAML and XACML

OASIS SAML and XACML TC members will host an interactive exploration session outlining the ways these mature standards may better serve new privacy concerns. The session will include a representative from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, who will talk about recent objectives to improve consumer privacy. EIC will be held 5-8 May in Munich.

TOSCA 'Ready for Prime Time' at European Cloud events

The OASIS Cloud orchestration standard, TOSCA, will be featured at Cloudscape VII, 9-10 Mar in Brussels, and at Cloud Expo Europe, 11-12 Mar in London.  At both events, TOSCA will be part of the CloudWatch panel, "Cloud Standards Ready for Prime Time".

IBOPS takes the stage at ConnectID

A presentation on OASIS IBOPS, an end-to-end specification describing the standards necessary to perform server-based enhanced biometric security, will be featured at the ConnectID conference, 23-25 Mar, in Washington, DC. OASIS members receive 20% discount off registration.
