Having passed the OASIS transition anniversary many of you are having to renew your membership.  You needn't question the value of doing so, we are alive and well and making progress.  Summer has historically been a very quiet period for oBIX, and on top of that the primary specification author has had to take a leave of absence due to a medical issue in their immediate family.

Behind the scenes, work is progressing among those who have committed technical resources to the effort.  A considerable amount of time was spent researching XML technologies to address issues raised about the latest revision of the specification.  We have progressed to implementing the specification to further uncover its strengths and weaknesses.  The culmination of these efforts will be another revision and we expect it to be published in August.
