Steps
Paul,
"I hereby certify that Tridium is successfully using the oBIX Committee
Standard Version 1.0 in accordance with the OASIS TC Process."
We have three implementations:
1) full client/server implementation for Niagara AX
2) full server implementation for Niagara R2
3) client implementation in open source Java oBIX Toolkit
So if JCI or Siemens are using our Niagara
oBIX implementation as OEMs, then that counts as a "successful use"?
I was thinking that we had to have 3 different implementations, but it is just
use of the standard then? Also if Tridium could be considered an
different organization from Honeywell I can dig up something there too.
I also know Trane is building an oBIX implementation.
I've had some emails with Bob Dolan at Echelon that leads me to suspect they
might have an implementation - you might want to send Bob an email if you don't
hear from him.
Also does the use of oBIX at UNC count thru Toby? We have other customers
using oBIX, but I don't think any are OASIS members.
Brian

This may be a challenge. It looks like Johnson Controls and Siemens are
both members of OASIS and could complete this certification. Can you
please
follow up with your contacts in these organizations? Timing is critical
do
get this done since there is a long lead time on the standard vote. Need
it
ASAP.
Thanks;
Paul

Congratulations to the members of the oBIX committee on having successfully
passed this as a "Committee Standard". We are now working with
OASIS staff
on the correct procedure to proceed to making this an OASIS standard.
There
are a number of important criteria that need to be met, prior to a full
vote. One of these is documentation on "successful use" of
oBIX. In order
to complete this certification I need you to send me an e-mail with the
following text:
"I hereby certify that (company X) is successfully using the oBIX
Committee
Standard Version 1.0 in accordance with the OASIS TC Process."
Rules:
1) We are required to document a minimum of
three of these
certifications
2) Certifications must be from OASIS
organizational members, it can't
be from an individual or associate member (but they do not have to be oBIX
committee members )
3) The certification must be from the
member (not from a third party)
4) It does not appear to be a requirement
that the implementation be
in a commercially available (i.e. shipping) product. If you have
successfully tested the standard in a desktop or lab environment then that
is adequate.
