Subject: RE: [obix] Topics for the telco
We've had this conversation a few times. OASIS developed new rules for URIs and namespaces in 2008, and updated them in 2010. The old OBIX predates these rules but the new should follow them. http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/ndr/namingDirectives.html In particular, this question MUST rely on http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/ndr/namingDirectives.html#xml-namespaces "When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us." -- Alexander Graham Bell Toby Considine Chair, OASIS oBIX TC Editor, OASIS EMIX, Energy Interoperation Finance & Administration IT University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, NC Email: Toby.Considine@ unc.edu Phone: (919)962-9073 http://www.oasis-open.org http://www.NewDaedalus.com -----Original Message----- From: obix@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:obix@lists.oasis-open.org] On Behalf Of Markus Jung Sent: Thursday, November 07, 2013 5:31 AM To: obix@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [obix] Topics for the telco Hi all, when fixing the latest issues with the SOAP binding and Encodings document I ran into the question about the namespace names and versioning. Do we stay with http://obix.org/ns/schema/1.1 and http://obix.org/ns/wsdl/1.1 for the namespaces? And should they be normative for example within the WSDL artifact of SOAP binding? How do we handle different evolving between the XML schema and the WSDL definition? According Jira: https://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OBIX-54 Maybe we can discuss it today or in the next week's telco. Best regards, Markus -- Dipl.-Ing.
