Subject: RE: [obix] Groups - obix-v1.1-wd31.zip uploaded
Re: 17 Conformance in WD31
Section 17.1 is the conformance for the Server and contains two sections: 17.1.1 for the Lobby and 17.1.2 for Contracts.
The way it is written in WD31 it shows that the Bindings and Encodings requirements only within the Lobby. Shouldn't the Bindings and Encodings sections be 17.1.3 and 17.1.4 so that they refer to the overall Server itself, and not only to the Lobby? Note:
the part of Bindings and Encodings referring specifically to the Lobby probably should stay within the Lobby section, such as "Any bindings used by the implementation MUST be listed in the Bindings section of the Server’s Lobby Object." Similarly for encodings
within Lobby.
Contrast the Server to how Binding and Encoding are handled for the Client in 17.2. Here you can see Binding and Encoding are sections 17.2.1 and 17.2.2 and therefore conditions for the overall client.
Another minor question: should the sections be labelled Binding and Encoding (as noted in the Client) or Bindings and Encodings (as noted in the Server)?

The quotes are automatically modified by word as a function of the Spell-Check function-which means they can be turned off by style (style includes language options as well as formatting) Normally if you are using the example style, they are disabled.

I’ve seen it in some places. Can I get a ruling Toby, on whether smart quotes should/should not be in the XML? It appears from what I’ve seen that prose quotes are “smart”, and XML quotes are mixed – some are smart (mostly ones that have been edited recently), and some are not (mostly ones that are heldover from 1.0).
I have a WD32 with all the fixes except smart quotes ready to ship out, and can produce a WD32 with the smart quote fix, just let me know. WD31 has most of the changes, so the difference to WD32 should be small enough that people could consume it on the fly in the call tomorrow if need be.
Thanks Craig
