I am interested in serving as a co-chair of the OASIS OData Technical Committee. As requested by Chet, I have included a brief biographical statement below.

Ram works as a Senior Standards Professional at Microsoft Open Technologies, a wholly owned Microsoft subsidiary. In that role for more than 6 years, Ram participated in a number of standards bodies, including OASIS, W3C, and WS-I, served in many roles, including as a Chair, and played a pivotal role in the standardization of a number of Web services specifications. Ram currently is Microsoft's Primary Representative in OASIS, co-chairs the OASIS Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) Technical Committee, and is a member of the OASIS AMQP Member Section Steering Committee and OASIS WS-I Member Section Steering Committee. Prior to joining Microsoft, Ram worked for Sun Microsystems Inc. and was the Specification Lead for Java Transaction API and Java EE Connector Architecture 1.5 specification which defines the connectivity architecture for integrating Java EE based application servers with messaging, ERP, and legacy systems.

To all prospective members of the OData Technical Committee:

The first order of business at the first TC meeting is to elect a chair (or two co-chairs). If you are interested in serving as a Chair or in nominating another individual for the position of Chair, you are welcome to make that candidacy known prior to the first meeting by posting a note to the TC's e-mail list (odata@lists.oasis-open.org) expressing your interest and/or intent along with a brief statement of your or their qualifications. The meeting will also accept nominations from any qualified persons before beginning the vote. 

Please be aware that prospective members must join the TC no less than 7 days prior to the first meeting in order to participate in the meeting and vote on for TC Chair(s). To join the TC, go to the TC's web page at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/odata/  and click the "Join This TC" button.
