Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (ODATA-271) Support IsAlwaysBindable through annotation, rather than attribute of function/action

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/ODATA-271?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=32655#action_32655 ]

Ralf Handl commented on ODATA-271:
----------------------------------

This would mean that any function or action that has a first parameter of MyModel.MyEntityType MAY be advertised in any entity of this type.

I'm fine with that.

Would these functions or actions also be part of an odata.metadata=none response? Or are clients using that format parameter implicitly saying they don't care about actions and functions?

> Functions (and Actions) have a complicated set of attributes, some of which don't really specify the function but rather is used for optimizations around when/how it needs to be advertised. In particular, IsAlwaysBindable is an attribute that serialization may use to omit functions from the payload if they are always bindable and can be called following convention. Such information is better suited to an annotation than an attribute.
