Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (ODATA-423) Rename edm:Entity to edm:SingletonEntity and its Type attribute to EntityType

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/ODATA-423?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=33713#action_33713 ]

Ralf Handl commented on ODATA-423:
----------------------------------

In a discussion today we wondered why singletons would need a key, and whether "Singleton" would be the better name to also allow complex type instances in the future.

> Rename edm:Entity to edm:SingletonEntity and its Type attribute to EntityType

> Key: ODATA-423

> Project: OASIS Open Data Protocol (OData) TC
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: OData ATOM Format , OData CSDL, OData JSON Format, OData Protocol , OData URL Conventions
> Affects Versions: V4.0_CSD01
> Environment: [Applied]
> Reporter: Ralf Handl

> A "named entity" is rather a "singleton entity".
> To increase consistency the XML representation of a singleton (formerly: named)I entity should be named edm:SingletonEntity.
> To further increase consistency with the edm:EntitySet element itsType attribute should be named EntityType.
